Hi Everyone, I am looking for a replacement for my "stock" Scarab alternator. I want an internal regulator and higher amps than the factory 60amps. Does anyone have a recommendation, part number, manufacturer that will fit with the SBC engine with a long water pump? I currently have the stock Scarab brackets that align the alternator with the belt. Thanks for the info! Sincerely, Allen Young 75 Scarab Z

Hi Mike and everyone! My daughter will be attending ZCON this year. We'll be driving down with another Z from my local club. I will represent the Scarab community as best I can. I'll send pictures for sure. Question: How have you explained the Scarab story to those that never heard of them? Do you have a short answer or a poster or flyer or do you just tell them the story. I'd like to tell the Scarab story to those people that seem interested in the best way possible. Is there a web article or something that I can direct them to? I know Randy's book is comprehensive but it is not readily available. Maybe a short "teaser" introduction with a link to more information. That might be something we could create... something simple that explains what a Scarab is (not just a V8 Datsun) and how Brian and Keith created them. What do you think? Take care and keep driving! Every Sunday there's a large cruise at the Pavilions shopping center in Scottsdale, AZ. The last Sunday of each month there's an area reserved for Desert Z Association members to display their cars. Yesterday I drove my Scarab to the cruise and met up with Randy Lewis and his wife who live nearby and Joe Morrey and his wife who were in town for a few days. What I nice surprise! It was great to catch up with them for a few hours before I had to hit the road back up the mountain before nightfall settled in. The weather was beautiful, and the drive was a blast! Get those cars out from their winter slumber!
